Some organizations (pretty big names in wedding industry) only care about hooking the big fish clients (clients who can pay $10K and above on entertainment).  Not all of us have such a luxury, but we do have an idea about what our wedding should look, sound, smell, feel, and taste like. Consider hiring vendors who care about you as a person first and foremost. If you are interested in a particular group, ask if they will accept a  payment plan for services. You may not be able to afford $5K for that wedding band/DJ combo package, but if you have a 24-month lead-in time to your wedding, you could budget $200 per month and have the wedding of your dreams.
